Tierr@_de_N@die: After the release of last Moore's documentary a huge storm has shaken the foundations of the world environmental movement all around the globe. Now, Bill McKibben, one of the persons pointed out by Moore's critiques, he defends himself against the charges and he argues why this attack endangers the environment movement and it gives breathe to the oil industry.
I think there’s truth to it: there’s a collection of showmen like Moore who enjoy attracting attention to themselves by endlessly picking fights. They’re generally not people who actually try to organize, to build power, to bring people together. That’s the real, and difficult, work — not purity tests or calling people out, but calling them in. At least, that’s how it seems to me: The battle to slow down global warming in the short time that physics allots us requires ever bigger movements.
